Zina Jones

Zina Maria Jones, 60, passed quietly at her home in Clinton, Iowa.

A private family service will be live-streamed and held at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport, Iowa at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

She was born February 12, 1961 in St. Louis, Missouri to Frank Shelton and Vera Carter Shelton.

Creative, thoughtful, kind and generous describes her best. With a passion for helping others, Zina often gave words of encouragement to those in need. She researched constantly throughout the pandemic for coping cures. A lover of the arts, she co-sponsored several Canadian opera productions with her sister. With crafts as one of her hobbies, she especially enjoyed knitting and painting. Formerly a member of The House of Prayer Church in Akron, Ohio, Zina set up a new residence in Davenport, Iowa, in 2011 to be closer to family and recently joined a new church in Clinton where she renewed her faith.

Those left to honor her memory include sister Jeri (Mark) Johnston, brother Juan (Sheila) Shelton, nephews Todd, Dontae, Trenton, Kamden, and nieces Tiffany, Simora and Destiney and a host of loving extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and beautiful baby.
