William C. "Bill" Glowacki

A Mass of Christian Burial for William C. “Bill” Glowacki, 87, of Davenport, will be Saturday, March 18th at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport.  Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m., Friday, March 17th at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Private family burial will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Arsenal Island.  Memorials may be made to Holy Family Parish, Knights of Columbus Loras Council 532, or Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

Bill died peacefully March 8, 2023 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.

William Charles Glowacki was born June 27^th, 1935, in Davenport, a son of Vincent J. and Marie (Schier) Glowacki.  Bill served in the U.S. Army.  He earned a Registered Pharmacy Degree from Creighton University, a Bachelors degree in Nursing from Marycrest College, and a degree in Nurse Anesthesia from The Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Bill was united in marriage to Sharon Roder on August 28^th, 1965, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sioux City, Iowa. 

Bill enjoyed daily mass, Boundary Water trips, golf, fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, Davenport; children: Dr. of Pharmacy Robert (Jane) Glowacki, Barrington Hills, Illinois, Dr. Paul (Mary) Glowacki, Nickerson, Nebraska, and Lisa Koehler, Barrington, Illinois; grandchildren: Brittany, Ethan and Amanda Glowacki, Jacob, Katelyn and Lauren Glowacki, William, Ryan, Dylan and Colton Koehler; brothers: Jerry Glowacki, West Des Moines, Iowa, and Don (Sandy) Glowacki, Davenport; sisters and brother-in-law’s: Peggy Wiederholt, Barry and Verlyn Wiederholt, Denny and Patty Wiederholt, and Barb (Dave) Reynolds.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Glowacki, his parents, siblings, and their spouses: George (Genevieve) Glowacki, Eugene (Rosemary) Glowacki, Delores (Donald) Warlop, Richard (Penny) Glowacki; sisters-in-law’s: Loretta Glowacki and Jo Marie Wiederholt; brother-in-law: Joseph Wiederholt.
