William Gilbert II

We mourn the passing of a man who truly never knew a stranger, just a friend he had yet to meet. William L “Billy” Gilbert II, 50, of Davenport, passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at the Clarissa Cook House in Bettendorf.  A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 12-5pm at Sunrise Golf Course, 3947 Moencks Rd, Bettendorf, IA, 52722.  Parking is limited so carpooling is encouraged.

Billy was born at Davenport Osteopathic Hospital on May 22, 1972, to William “Bill” and Linda (Wright) Gilbert. Growing up in Le Claire, he graduated from Pleasant Valley High School. Billy loved music and sports and contributed to many bands, athletic and pool teams throughout the Quad Cities. He was a true fan of Elvis, Waylon Jennings, the Green Bay Packers, and his daughter.

He is survived by his life partner Erica Kohl of Davenport; daughter Audrey Gilbert of Naperville, IL; sisters: Bobbie (Bubba Hunt) Fenton of Nichols, IA; Mary (Larry) Boyd of Davenport; Pam Sims of Davenport, Jennifer (Mike) Becker of Ottawa, IL, and stepmother Patty Gilbert of East Moline.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
