Wilbert Samuels Jr.

Wilbert L. Samuels Jr, age 73 of Rock Island, passed away on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Unity Point Trinity, Rock Island. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.

Wilbert was born on December 6, 1949 in Moline to Wilbert and Edith (Graves) Samuels Sr. He attended United Township. He worked at I.H for many years and at Jacobson Warehouse. He was a 30-year member of Esquire Lodge #1648 and a member of Council #103. He served many positions in the Lodge, last serving 19 years as Exalted Ruler. He was a PGER of the IBPOE of The World.

Survivors include his wife, Rolanda Rodriguez Samuels; brother, Gary Samuels; sisters, Gwen Watford, and Lisa Sutton-Hicks; children, Adrian Samuels, Michelle Blanks Veasey, Brian Samuels, LaSondra Counce, Phylecia Samuels-Hughes, Calandra Samuels, and Ryan Lewis; 19 Grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
