Wetzel "Ray" Baldwin

Wetzel “Ray” Baldwin, Jr., 69, of Davenport, passed away, Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Genesis East Medical Center.

Ray was born on September 13, 1953, son of Wetzel Ray, Sr. and Doris May (Gile) Baldwin.

Ray was a skilled woodworker and had made his own headboard, tv stands, and tool chests. He was also a gifted guitarist.  Ray enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and loved spending time by the river camping and fishing with his dog.  He also was an avid reader, Stephen King being one of his favorites.  Every morning he could be found working on his bible study.  Ray had also been a faithful monthly contributor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Above all else he cherished his family and his dog, Winston Churchill.

Those left to honor his memory include his siblings, Christine (Steven) Hoff, Jack Baldwin, and Demmie (Lola) Baldwin; niece Charlotta Gilbert; nephews Jimmy (Mindy) Pecoraro and Travis Guinn; uncle and aunt Melvin and June Gile; adopted niece and nephew, Michele McCoy and Dale Blake; and many great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son Ray Baldwin.
