Todd Christenson

Services to celebrate the life of Todd J. Christenson, 65, a resident of Davenport, will be Noon Saturday, January 6, 2018 in the All Faith Chapel at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. The family will greet friends Friday, January 5, 2018 from 4:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home. There will be additional visitation Saturday from 11:00 am until services.

Todd died Monday, January 1, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, with his wife and family at his side following a courageous year and half battle with cancer.

Todd James Christenson was born, October 21, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa a son of, Carl Vernon and LaVera Jean (Williams) Christenson. He was united in marriage to Barbara Lynn Merryman in 1973 in Algona.

Todd was self-employed in the construction field for over 40-years. He established Able Builders and was proud to help others build their dreams. In earlier years he worked for the Rock Island Line Railroad.

He was a volunteer Little League and Farm League coach for over ten years in Milan and Rock Island.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife of 44 years, Barb, and children, Travis Christenson, Davenport; Jason (Cheryl) Christenson, Rock Island, Nicole (Jeremy) Richard, Bettendorf; Melissa Christenson, Bettendorf; Tad (Kayla) Christenson, DeWitt; 14 grandchildren and one adorable great granddaughter; siblings, Bill Christenson, Cary Christenson, Paul (Joy) Christenson, Tracy Nutt, Cord Christenson, and Carolyn Fitzgerald.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Scott.
