Thomas G. "Tom" Sherrod, Jr.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Thomas “Tom” Sherrod Jr, 57, of Davenport, will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Davenport.  Visitation will be from noon until the time of services at the funeral home.  Please join the family for lunch at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Davenport after the burial.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Mr. Sherrod passed away on April 21, 2023, at his home.

Thomas Grant Sherrod Jr was born August 10, 1965, in Davenport, the son of Thomas and Nancy (Goldermann) Sherrod Sr. 

Tom worked in construction for several companies over the years and in his spare time enjoyed fishing, morel mushroom hunting, trapping, watching the History Channel, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. 

Those left to honor his memory include his children Victoria (fiancé Josh Peterson) Sherrod, Thomas Sherrod III, all of Davenport, Tony Giebelstein Jr of Decatur, IL, Krystal (Clifford Howard) Giebelstein, Matthew (Jennie) Giebelstein, Nickolas (fiancée Felicia Mutchler) Giebelstein, all of Davenport; grandchildren Lillie, Thomas IV, Katie, Alex, Tessa, Emily, Ellie, Maximus, Charles, Bethany, Nickolas Jr, Lucas, Gage; sister Kimberly (Thomas) Sherrod – Hensler, of Davenport; nephews Ryan, Aron, and Robert; niece Ashley; five great nephews; and two great nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and longtime girlfriend Donna Giebelstein.  May they rest in peace.
