Thomas M. Lang

Thomas Lang, 75, of Davenport, passed away, Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Genesis East Medical Center.

Memorial Services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2022 at 10:00am at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm, Thursday, January 12, 2023 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to any veteran or cancer charity of your choice.

A memorial party will be held in May for those who are unable to attend this winter.

Tom was born on April 9, 1947, a son of Joseph and Louise Lang. He married Jan Hayslett (1965 – 1970). From this union Scott and Kim were born. He then married Debbi Joynt in 1987 and from this union came Jeff and stepson Kevin. 

Tom was a veteran in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a member of the Local 81 Insulators and had been a Pipe Insulator for 41 years prior to his retirement in 2007. Tom was also a proud member of the VFW and American Legion. In his younger years he was part owner of his father’s bar, Joe Lang’s Tap. He found joy in golfing, bowling, and sharing drinks with friends. Tom was a man that didn’t know a stranger; he made friends with anyone and everyone and always welcomed you like you were part of the family. He made time to enjoy lunch at least once a month with his grade school friends, high school friends, and work friends. 

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Debbi; children, Kim Boggs, Scott (Kristi) Lang, and Jeff Lang; stepson Kevin (Shayna) Hamma; grandchildren Gabby Boggs, Austin Hamma, Scotty Lang, Hunter Lang, Aden Weimer, Talon Hamma, Lily Hamma, and Zimmer Lang; and siblings Joe (Diane) Lang and Jerry Lang.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
