Mr. Petersen-Brown passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Trinity, Rock Island.
Tavian was born April 4, 1996, in Clinton, the son of Joseph Brown and Tracy Petersen.
He graduated from Davenport MidCity High School in 2015. He had recently received his CDL license and looked forward to starting his career in the transportation industry.
Tavian loved to work out daily at the local YMCA and was always trying to influence everyone else to do the same. Eating healthy was a priority, he was always trying to influence those around him with his unique food choices and opinions on proper diet (protein shakes, spring water, no red dye and definitely no pork) but never passing up an opportunity with grandma’s scotcheroo bars and lemon lush dessert. He also enjoyed researching and expressing his strong beliefs while seeking the truth and debating his opinions with anyone that was up for the challenge. But most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends while taking long drives listening to music and enjoying life to the fullest.
He had his own taste in music, often finding non-mainstream songs and underground rappers whose lyrics resonated with him. He was a sneakerhead always craving the latest shoe release to compliment his wardrobe. Tavian loved daddy time with his daughter Azarah Rose reading books, teaching her how to dance, making her smile and constantly asking her for kisses, they also enjoyed eating food together as they made big messes while doing so. His goofy sense of humor, big hugs, and bright smile will never be forgotten.
In addition to his daughter, those left to honor his memory his mother Tracy Petersen; father Joe Brown; all of Davenport; siblings Kiara Petersen-Brown, Kimberlee Selemani, Christopher Morgan, and Sharnae Brown; maternal grandmother Diana Petersen, Miles, IA; uncle Ted Petersen, Adel, IA; mother of his child Africa Shorter and his girlfriend Angelique Jamison..
He was preceded in death by his son King Troy Petersen and maternal grandfather Dale Petersen, paternal grandmother Alice Brown and paternal Stanford Lee Smith.
