Susan K. (Wilson) Botkin 74, of Princeton, Iowa., went to be with our Lord, December 13, 2018 after an extended illness. Susan was born May 24, 1944 to William and Evelyn Wilson in Davenport. Susan was a lifelong resident of Iowa and graduate of Assumption High School, class of 1962. She married her high school sweet heart, Charles W. Botkin in 2000. Sue retired from Thoms-Proestler in 2002 after forty years of service. She loved fishing, camping and boating with her family and was an elegant and stylish entertainer and fabulous cook.
A private family mass will be held later. In memory of her gracious generosity and care for others, her remains were donated to the University of Chicago for medical research in hope that others will benefit from her gift to medical science. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Susan was a devoted loving wife, protective mother and grandmother whose grace, devotion to others, kindness, generosity and profound lover for her family had no limits or boundaries. Her life was devoted to nurturing and caring for others, especially those in need of a loving embrace, comforting, a home or a hot and hardy meal.
Sue lived her life by the golden rule and always looked for opportunities to spread her joy for life and love for others to all who were blessed to earn her friendship.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Sarah Botkin, Port Byron, Illinois; step-children, Jeff and Michele Botkin, Larkspur, Colorado, Chuck and Linda Botkin, Payton, Colorado, Linda and Kevin Jahnke, Ramona, California, and Jennifer Swim, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
