Sue Francis

Susan (Sue) A. Francis, age 77, of Davenport, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at her home after a brief illness. Private services will be held at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Gilda’s Club, or Trinity Hospice. A celebration will be held at a later date.

Sue was born on February 2, 1946, in Davenport to Walter and Bernice (Fahrenkrug) Bruhn. Throughout her lifetime she worked as a dental technician for labs in the Quad Cities.

Sue was not aware of how unique of a person she was. She was the glue that held the family together. Even in her last days she never complained and was more worried about her family than herself. As she always said, “to everything there is a season.”

Sue enjoyed many things; playing cards, planting flowers, gardening, reading, camping, going to the casino, but more especially family gatherings and felt her family was her greatest accomplishment.

Survivors include her daughters, Barb (John) Blanchard, Michelle (Jeff) Mally, and Denise Francis; grandchildren, Eric, Joshua (Kristi), Melissa, Ryan, Chelsea, Michael, Mikia and Taryn; 6 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Tootie Skelley, and Kathi (Greg) Motley.

In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her good friend, David Gayman; and a brother, Daniel Bruhn.
