Steven S. Stoltenberg

Steven S. Stoltenberg, 73, a resident of Davenport, died Thursday, May 25, 2023 at his home of natural causes.

Visitation will be 4:00 p.m.  – 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 2, 2023 at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Walcott Cemetery in Walcott, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Circa 21 in Rock Island.

Steve was born October 24, 1949 in Davenport, the son of Wilbert and Gloria (Jebens) Stoltenberg. He married Sandra Biles at the old St. Ann’s Church in 1990. She preceded him in death March 20, 2013.

Steve owned and operated Northwest Music Shop, opening it in 1972. He was the last full-service independent music store in the area. Steve prided himself on affordable pricing to make music affordable to all income levels. Throughout his life he played the clarinet in many community bands. He enjoyed volunteering as an usher for various plays and concerts in the community. Steve was a graduate of Western Iowa Tech Community College and a former member of the Iowa National Guard.

Those left to honor his memory include his sister, Wendy Stoltenberg and her husband, Greg Huang of Iowa City; nephew, Justin Huang; step-children and step-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Clyde.

          Steve’s family wishes to thank all who understood, supported and encouraged Steve throughout his life’s journey.
