Steven R. Phillips

Steven Ray Phillips, 72, of Davenport, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at Harmony – Utica Ridge, Davenport. Per his request the rite of cremation has been accorded and a private family memorial service will be held. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, assisted the family. Memorials may be made to Kings Harvest Pet Rescue, Davenport.

Steve was born July 6, 1952, in Davenport, a son of Raymond and Betty (Russell) Phillips. He graduated from Assumption High School, class of 1971. He married Kathleen Connard in 1974; he was then later united in marriage to Mary Ellen (O’Connor) Levsen on October 14, 1995. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2014.

Prior to his retirement in 1996, Steve had been a union laborer with Civil Construction.

He loved dogs and being outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley.

Those left to honor his memory include his children Amy (Jon Backstrom) Phillips, Colleen Phillips, Andrew Phillips; eight grandchildren; a great grandson; stepson Mike and Pat Levsen, all of Davenport; siblings Deb (Mike) Sager of Davenport, Rod (Ronnda) Phillips of Eldridge, Todd Phillips of Denver, CO; and girlfriend Karla Bell of Davenport.

In addition to his wife Mary Ellen, he was preceded in death by his parents.
