Steven Paul Maller lived a life of love, family, and travel. Steve was born on March 8, 1958 in Waterloo, IA to loving parents Joyce and Robert Maller. Growing up in Davenport with his two brothers and sister, Steve excelled at school and sports. He received his bachelor's degree from Iowa State University and his MBA from the University of Iowa.
Steve had a 36 year long career with John Deere retiring with a legacy of hard work, determination, and excellence. Beyond work, Steve loved good conversations, walks with his dog, and watching any movie on TV.
But the greatest joy in Steve's life was raising his five children. Steve was there for every choir performance, soccer game, and graduation. He could handle any situation with calmness and presence. Steve was the rock of the family, the guiding light. He taught his kids everything he knew, from relationships, faith, and finances. His kids will treasure his memory forever and always make him proud.
Steve lived out his dreams at the end of his life with his companion, Sophia. Together, they played golf, learned new things, and traveled the world. Steve passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024 after doing his favorite activity - watching a sunset with someone he loved.
Steve is preceded in death by his brother, David, and his parents Joyce and Robert.
Steve is survived by his children, Julie, Rachel, David, Emily, Grace, and his beloved pet Oliver ("Ollie"). He is also survived by his brother John and sister-in-law Lisa, his sister Carol, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
We love you, dad.
