Steve Hutchinson

Stephen C. “Steve” Hutchinson, 70, of Bettendorf, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital, following a brief illness.

Steve was born February 21, 1951 in Clarinda, IA, a son of Leland and Hope (Mack) Hutchinson.  The family later relocated to Davenport.  Steve was a 1969 graduate of West High School.

Steve spent his career in the trucking business, working for companies such as ADM and Team One Logistics.  In retirement, Steve enjoyed staying busy with a number of part time jobs.  His favorite was driving a bus for River Bend Transit.  He was very proud to provide needed transportation to the aged and handicapped.

Surviving are his brother, Barry (Cheryl) Hutchinson of East Moline; sister Rhonda (Charles) Parsons of Bettendorf; aunt Jean Kiefer of Deforest, WI; and uncle Marvin (Joan) Hutchinson of Gower, MO.  Steve is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins who he dearly loved.

The family will hold a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to River Bend Transit to help defray the out-of-pocket costs for their aged and handicapped customers.
