Stevan Lemek

Visitation for Stevan F. Lemek, 67, of Davenport will be held at 10:00 a.m. at High Point Bible Chapel, Davenport followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 1st 2025. Graveside committal will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport immediately following funeral services. Your prayers for Stevan will be your gift. Stevan Francis Lemek was born on May 1st, 1957 in Iowa City, Iowa a son of Richard J. and Maureen T. (Bateman) Lemek. Steve graduated from Davenport Assumption High School in 1975 where he was a member of the National Honor Society and made the Honor Roll. Art and Christian devotion defined Steve’s life. Combining his two loves, he painted the backdrop for his high school’s play Jesus Christ Superstar. Following graduation, Steve attended Marycrest College, in Davenport, Iowa. 

Steve led a courageous and inspiring life. He was a model of optimism and perseverance and an advocate for Stigma Busters, an organization bringing awareness and acceptance of those with mental health issues. Throughout his adult life he prolifically produced drawings and paintings. He was recently recognized for his artistic talents with a personal exhibit at the Figge Museum’s “Memories in the Making” benefiting the Alzheimer’s Association. Steve was a devout Christian and gentle soul who brought comfort to everyone he met.

Those left to cherish his memory are his siblings: Theresa Lemek, Davenport, Iowa, Christine (Paul) Clements, Cincinnati, Ohio, David (Maura Quinn) Lemek, Arlington, Virginia, Brian (Elizabeth) Lemek, Chevy Chase, Maryland, Donald Lemek, Arvada, Colorado, Annette (Beth Simpson) Lemek, Portland, Maine, and Tony (Carla Garcia-Rivas) Lemek, Bettendorf, Iowa, and nineteen nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Jessica (Donald) Lemek, his parents, Richard J. Lemek, Maureen T. Lemek - may they rest in peace.
