Shirley Mae Poole

Shirley Mae Poole, 93, passed away peacefully at home with family on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Per her wishes cremation rights have been accorded.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.  In lieu of memorials please plant a tree or flower to honor her memory.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Shirley Mae Remrey was born on April 3, 1930 in Clinton County to Edward and Lillian (Lage) Remrey.  She married John Gabriel Poole on September 10, 1950.  He passed away January 25, 1984. 

Those left to honor her include children Duane and Deborah Poole, Davenport, IA,  LouAnn Cooper, Peoria, IL, Nan Ellen Borunda, Davenport, IA, Ruth Ann and Rich Mayerhofer, Walcott, IA, and Thomas and Tracee Poole, Davenport, IA; 18 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren with one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Marvin Remrey, grandson Wade Spencer, great granddaughter Clair Youngs and son-in-law Ramon Borunda.
