Sharon A. Smith

Sharon A. Smith, 71, of Davenport, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, peacefully at her home. Per her wish the rite of cremation has been granted and a celebration of her life will be held at 1pm on Sunday, October 6, 2024, Visitation will be held from noon to 1pm at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Sharon Ann Smith was born August 21, 1953, in St. Louis, MO, daughter of Angelo and Rose Ann (Smith) Smith.

Prior to her retirement she worked many careers that she perfected over the years.

Sharon was tough, energetic, a survivor, a shining light in the world, and the life of the party. She enjoyed practicing martial arts and was a 1st-degree black belt in Taekwondo. She also love spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren. 

Those left to honor her memory include her only son Fredrick (Marlonda) Smith of Davenport; seven grandchildren Jessica Winters, Rose Winters,Latasha (Winters) Mills, Tuccara Winters,Tashey Winters, Angel Westbrook and David Hurley; 17 great grandchildren; seven siblings Deborah Macon, Sandra Vaughns, Angela Bordeaux, Haroetta (Anthony) Smith-Smith, Taron Smith, Jay Smith and Saifeetta (Cornell) Thomas; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother (Tony Smith), a sister (Eura Hubbard) and a grandson (Janyis Cline).
