Sharon Lee Mathias, 71, a resident of Bettendorf, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, March 1, 2018 after suffering a cardiac event. Keeping with her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Funeral services to celebrate Sharon’s life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2018 at O’Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home, 575 South Snelling Avenue, St. Paul, Minnesota. Memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Public Library or the Community of Joy Food Pantry, Bettendorf.

Sharon was born on April 13, 1946 in St. Paul, Minnesota, a daughter of Carl and Violenta (Justin) Mathias. She graduated from St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul, Minnesota with a degree in Mathematics.
Sharon worked for the federal government for over 30 years as a systems analyst at the Rock Island Arsenal retiring in 2007.
Sharon had a great love of crosswords and reading, (you could always catch her at the Bettendorf Public Library). She also volunteered at the Community of Joy Food Pantry.
Sharon is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sarah Mathias and Bobby Ghandehari; grandsons, Drew and Drake Ghandehari all of Ladera Ranch, California; a sister, Shirley (Jose) Gallardo, St. Paul, Minnesota, and a brother, Charles (Marilyn) Mathias, Chandler, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Leda Connor. May they rest in peace.
