Sharon N. Brandon

Funeral services celebrating the life of Sharon N. Brandon, 60, of Des Moines, and formerly of Davenport, will be held at Noon on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at the Halligan McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.  Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.  Visitation will be from 10am until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Mrs. Brandon passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, after a brief illness.

Sharon Nadine Trout was born May 21, 1963, in Davenport, a daughter of Frank Lee and Nadine (Cudmore) Trout.  She was united in marriage to Bryant Brandon on June 11, 2009, in Rock Island.

Sharon was a homemaker and was “mom” to not only her own children, but the neighborhood kids as well.  The fact that she loved to spoil children may have had something to do with this.  When she wasn’t spoiling her children, she could be found listening to music, cooking, dancing, gardening, or telling jokes. 

Those left to honor her memory include her husband Bryant; children Mickayla Richardson of Davenport, Corey Francis of Davenport, Shawna Francis of Kankakee, IL, Chanell Francis of Houston, Nikita (Andrew) Janssen of Davenport; 21 grandchildren; siblings Sonya (Ezekiel) Villarreal of Houston, Lydia (Tony) Ventura of Davenport, Dean (Patti) Trout of Davenport, Annie Bickford of LeClaire, Ray Lee of Rock Island, Christina Boggs, David Watson of East Moline; Sharon Payne of Colona, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Ezekiel Francis, sisters Lavere Nunez, Helen Miranda, brothers Terry Trout, Ernie Lee, and son-in-law Darren Richardson.
