    Funeral Services for Sally J. Kone, 74, a resident of Davenport will be 12 noon on Monday, April 20, 2009, at the All Faith Chapel, Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.   The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport.  Sally died Thursday, April 16, 2009, at her home in Davenport after a courageous fight with cancer. 

    Sally Jayne Cook was born August 9, 1934 in Davenport, the daughter of Fred and Madeline (Oliver) Cook.   She was united in marriage to Norman J. Kone, 1979 in Davenport; he preceded her in death March 19, 2003.  She retired in 1997 after 22 years with Quad City Foods.  Sally’s hobbies include gardening and working puzzles.  She also enjoyed having a beer with her son.   The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lynette at Trinity Pathway Hospice and a special appreciation to Ann Duncan for all the loving care she provided. 

    Memorials may be made to Trinity Pathway Hospice or your favorite charity. 

Survivors include her daughters, Jane (George) Bethell and Jennifer Duncan and a son Ron (Ann) Duncan, all of Davenport, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sisters Helen Sterk, and a brother Richard Cook, both of Davenport. 

    She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, Madeline M. Tappendorf, and brothers, James D. Cook Sr., and Fred Cook.   May they rest in peace.
