Ruthell Bogan

February 22, 1932 — June 27, 2023

Davenport, Iowa

Mother Ruthell Harriet Bogan was born on February 22, 1932, to William Sr. And Hattie Fountain in Paraloma, Arkansas. She was one of fifteen children. Ruthell passed away peacefully on June 27, 2023 at Trinity Bettendorf surrounded by her loved ones.
Ruthell spent her youngest years as a health aide. She later became a childcare provider. Throughout her many, many years as a provider she obtained numerous certificates. She was very proud of her accomplishments.
Mother Ruthell married Elder Moses Bogan on December 30 1953, in Nashville, Arkansas. Ruthell had 11 children, 9 she shared with her husband Moses, one from a previous relationship and one she cared for and loved as her own.
Ruthell accepted Christ early in her life and served faithfully. Mother Bogan was a member of Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ where she served on the usher board. She later joined Mt. Moriah Jehovah-Jireh Church of God in Christ, Davenport, IA.
Mother Bogan never learned to drive, but she loved going places. She would purchase vehicles for her grandchildren to take her wherever she needed and wanted to go. Mother Bogan loved to shop, she especially loved getting dropped off at NorthPark Mall where she would spend hours at JCPenney. Mother Bogan was an avid collector, finding joy in meticulously sorting through her papers. Reluctant to discard anything, she firmly believed that each item held potential value for future use.
She loved food and going out to eat, she was very particular about what she liked. She loved talking on the phone and could go on and on, good conversations too! Mother Bogan had a soft spot for kids, caring for them became a hobby. The kids loved her, her home was always the place to be.
The love emanated warmly, enveloping all who entered, creating an atmosphere so inviting that no one wished to depart. While Mother Bogan held an equal adoration for all the children, there were a select few she held dear as her "special ones," maintaining a close bond with them. Acting as a protector, Mother Bogan exuded an aura of safety that provided solace to those in her presence.
Survivors include her son Ray, (Shannah) Bogan of Davenport, IA; three daughters, Jonita Davis of Clarksville, TN, Michelle Jack of Dallas, TX, Sheila Bogan, (Carlton) Gibbs of Smyrna, TN; One sister, Floya Fountain-Williams of Davenport, IA.; A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, relatives, and friends
