Ruth Ann Luetje

Ruth Ann C. Luetje, 81, a resident of Eldridge, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Grand Haven Assisted Living, Eldridge, surrounded by her family.  Private graveside services will be held at a later date in National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ruth Ann Cheryl Walton was born August 9, 1937 in Grand Mound, Iowa, a daughter of Henry and Ada (Buller) Walton.  She married Earl John “Jack” Luetje May 31, 1958 in Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport.  They celebrated 59 years of marriage.  Earl preceded her in death August 25, 2017.

Ruth Ann enjoyed spending time with family and watching the Chicago Cubs.

Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Those left to honor Ruth Ann’s memory include her children:  Laurie (Terry) Manley, Prairie duSac, Wisconsin, and Lynelle (Corey) Anderson, Eldridge; grandchildren:  Courtney, Griffin, Maggie (Louie), Stacy (Adam), Stephanie (Danny), Brittany, Cassie, Aubrey and Brodey; great-grandchildren:  Brea, Dakota and Mason; siblings:  Willard (Eunice) Walton, Holland, Michigan and Charlene Cooper, Davenport.   In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and children, Leanne Holden and Lindy Brown.
