Ruby McGowan

Ruby was granted her wings on February 1, 2022. Ruby was born in Drew, Mississippi to Elnora and Ruben McGowan. She was the sister of eleven siblings, (5) brothers and (6) sisters. Our Granny enjoyed going to garage sales, playing cards, and going to the casino. Granny loved a good southern meal. Her favorite southern meal was greens mixed with cabbage and fried okra. The love and bond Granny shared with her sisters was priceless. No matter if they were far away from each other, or in the same town. They kept open lines of communication, especially talking on the phone. Our Granny had a heart of gold. There was no sea to deep, no mountain to high, no sentence to long that she wouldn't swim, climb, or serve for us. We watched our Granny make sacrifices for all of us. Granny will be greatly missed and never forgotten. She leave behind her legacy. We're all proud to call her our "Granny." Granny leaves behind our six parents: Robert McGowan, Brenda McGowan, Michael McGowan, Patricia McGowan, Dawayne McGowan (Lueritha), Kennesha McGowan all of Davenport, Iowa. Granny had a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Mike McGowan, Robert McGowan, Sylvia Barry, Gloria McGowan, granddaughter Kimberly Bailey, great grandsons Adrian McGowan Jr., Tyrell Nelson and her best friends Linda Craig and Argustia Lacy.
