Ronald Brune

- Funeral Services and a Mass of Christian Burial for Ronald L. Brune, 80, of Davenport, will be 10am Friday, January 5, 2018 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 916 E. Rusholme St, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be 4-6pm Thursday, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport and will conclude with a prayer service at 5:45pm. There will be additional visitation at the church on Friday from 9:15am until time of service. Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Brune passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street, Davenport.

Ronald Lee Brune was born October 14, 1937 in Davenport, the son of John Henry and Elizabeth (Mehmert) Brune. He was united in marriage to Joyce Amelia (nee Wosoba) Edwards on November 27, 1997. She preceded him in death on August 2, 2013.

In earlier years Ron had worked in sales and management for DuBois Chemical, Industrial Tech Corp, and most recently for Chem Tech.

He was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus – Msgr. Leo J. Feeney Assembly #260. He was also a member of the Elks for over forty years, Junior Chamber of Commerce, Committee for Miss Davenport, and was chairman for the committee involved in getting Scott County Park established. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his stepsons David (Mary) Edwards Winfield, IA, Tom (Siobhan) Edwards, Chapel Hill, NC; grandchildren Jake, Sam, Grace, and Cara; cousins Bonnie Lybeck-Bergert and her husband Russell Bergert, Walcott, Darlene Nigamyer, Ft. Madison, Frank (Joann) Mehmert, Kansas City, Mo, and Paul Mehmert, Branson, MO.
