Roger L. Klemme

Roger Lee Klemme, 79, of Davenport, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022, in Davenport, following a brief illness. Per his wish the rite of cremation has been accorded. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, assisted the family. A memorial luncheon for friends and family will take place on Saturday, September 24, 2022, in the lower level of the Columbus Club, 1111 W. 35^th St, Davenport, from 1-4 pm.

Roger was born March 2, 1943, in Davenport, a son of Fred and Marie (Schiesser) Klemme. He was united in marriage to Kathleen Bermel on October 2, 1993, and she preceded him in death on October 20, 2013.

Prior to his retirement, he had been an owner and operator of his own trucking company. In his spare time, his passion was working on, and restoring classic cars to their natural beauty. He had an extraordinary knowledge of mechanics and could fix a broken-down car with just a screwdriver and a pair of pliers.  He enjoyed sharing his love for cars with others while displaying them at car shows.

Those left to honor his memory include his brothers Randall (Robin) Klemme, Ronald Klemme, all of Davenport, Richard Klemme of Bettendorf, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Kathy, he was preceded in death by his parents and brother Wayne.
