Rodney L. Scott, 61, of Buffalo, died Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Genesis East, Davenport. Funeral services to celebrate his life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Word of Life Church, Rock Island. The family will greet friends from 10 until 11 a.m. at the church. Keeping with his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
Rodney Lee Scott was born on September 21, 1959, in Maywood, California, a son of Cortez “Scotty” and Phyllis (Rogers) Scott. He had been a truck driver for Thoms Proestler.
Rodney had spent the last 10 years with the love of his life, Kathren “Kathy” Cook.
Rodney enjoyed sitting on his porch in Buffalo and would talk to anyone that crossed his path. He loved his dogs, Sassy and Chubbs, and more recently, Luke and Boo. Rodney was generous and would help others in need including sponsoring a child through Word of Life Church. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and NASCAR, especially the Earnhardts.
Survivors include his significant other, Kathy; mother, Phyllis; brother, Ricky (Becky Meeks) Scott, all of Buffalo, stepbrother and stepsisters, Randy (Missy), Pam, and Gerry, niece and nephew, Denae and Ryan; great niece and nephew, Walker and Arylia; aunt, Dolores Scott, special friend, Imogene Silvis, a special niece, Amanda (Heath) Scott Wheeler, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a stepsister Beverly.
