Roberta Jacqueline Young

Roberta Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Young, 58, died unexpectedly at UnityPoint- Trinity in Rock Island, on February 21, 2024, with her sister Natalie at her side. Jackie was born on June 30, 1965, in Davenport, the youngest daughter of William Young, Jr. and Emma Jean Young.

Per her wishes, cremation rites were accorded, and inurnment will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Pine Hill Cemetery, Davenport.

Jackie received her education through the Davenport Public School System graduating from West High School in 1983, She attended Iowa State University. Jackie was a free spirit and knew exactly what she wanted. This allowed her to live in New York City, Chicago, England, and Los Angeles. She owned R. Jacqueline Young Enterprises, LLC. She was heavily involved in politics. She attended many functions involving Barack Obama and was privileged to attend his farewell speech in 2017.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joseph, sister Twyla, nephew Jeffrey, and brother-in-law Nolan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sisters Natalie Ruth Young and Sandra Lynn Young-Sheppard, both of Davenport; aunts Annie Pearl Barnett, Dayton, OH, Alyce (Jesse) Meredith, Maywood, IL and Carolyn Young, San Francisco; uncles John L (Faye) Young, Davenport, Jerome (Joyce) Johson, San Francisco, and Timothy Jackson, San Francisco;  nieces Suless Young, Davenport and Patrice Young, Phoenix, AZ; nephews William “Greg”  (Anne) Young,  Prairie Valley, KS, Christopher Young, Davenport, and Warren “Doug” Griffin, Glendale, CA; great nieces Tavia Young and Janiah Johnson both of Davenport; great nephews Cameron Young, Phoenix, Nathan Young and Dominic Patrick both of Davenport, and great-great nephew, Isiah Young, Davenport; and numerous loving cousins.

The family wishes to thank Genesis, UnityPoint - Trinity Hospitals and Encompass Rehabilitation for providing excellent healthcare for Jackie.
