Robert E. "Bob" Reinart

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Robert E. “Bob” Reinart, 85, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Monday, September 23, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Bob died peacefully, Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Good Samaritan, Davenport surrounded by his family. 

Robert Eugene Reinart was born on May 12, 1939 in Carroll, Iowa, a son of Eugene and Genevieve (Thorpe) Reinart. He graduated in 1957 from St. Ambrose Academy. Bob was united in marriage to Balbina “Bobbie” Rokosz on August 25, 1962 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fort Madison. They have shared over 62 years of marriage.

Bob was a machinist at ALCOA for 43 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of Holy Family Parish, Knights of Columbus - Loras Council #532, and the Moose Lodge.

Bob was gifted with a mind that could do anything, from putting on a 2nd level edition to his home to replacing a motor in a vehicle. He’d figure it out! He enjoyed playing golf, bowling, woodworking, and playing cards. Bob also enjoyed his coffee and spending time with friends and family.

Bob is survived by his wife, Balbina “Bobbie” Reinart, Davenport; children and their spouses: Rob (Julie) Reinart, Jr., Rock Island, Scott (Susan) Reinart, Cedar Falls, Iowa, Beth (Tim) Thorne) Moncks Corner, South Carolina, and Cindy Klemme, Davenport; a daughter-in-law, Lori Haggerty; twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sisters: Jackie (Bill) Moore, LeClaire, Mary (Lee) Sandifer, Olympia, Washington, Margaret Reinart, Bettendorf, and Teresa (Paul) Mack, Georgetown, Texas and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by son, Thomas Reinart (July 2024), grandson, William Judd Reinart (January 2020) and his parents.
