Davenport

Funeral services celebrating the life of Robert “Rob” Miller, 51, of Davenport, will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be Monday from 9 am until time of services at the church.

Rob passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting the family.

Robert Mitchell Miller was born January 5, 1974, in Davenport, a son of Robert “Bob” and Sharon “Sherry” Miller. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Emily Jones on November 13, 1999, and they were blessed with their daughter Ella on March 27, 2006. He was undeniably proud of her for all her accomplishments. He often said he loved her so much it hurt.

Rob attended Scott Community College Auto Body Repair Program and worked in the auto body industry for 30 years, much of the time running his own shop, most recently, Executive Auto Werks.

He LOVED gathering with family and friends and playing board games-Monopoly and SkipBo being two favorites. Rob had a sense of humor like no other and made everyone around him happy. You knew the minute he entered the room not only from his stature but his booming voice, quick wit, and laugh which will be deeply missed. Rob had a heart of gold and loved his people unconditionally. A world without Rob seems unbearable but we know that he would want each of us to see the good in people and help those in need.

He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, classic cars (instilled in him at a young age from his dad), funny movies, dining out and finding the best hole in the wall eatery, and was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church.

Rob is survived by his wife Emily; daughter Ella; brother Mike (Lisa) Miller; sister Kristin (Jack) Wilkinson; cousin Jennifer McKinzie; bonus mom, Donna Persels-Grannemann; uncle Dennis (Pat) McKinzie; father and mother-in law, Charles and Rita Jones; brothers-in law, Dominic (Sara) Jones; Adam (Tia) Jones; sister-in law Allison (Matt) Newman; nieces and nephews, Jordan (Alyssa) Miller, Desmond Ethridge, Tyler VanAlsburg, Alyssa (Peter) Cooney, Jenna Wilkinson, Ethan Jones, Marshall Newman, Miles Newman; great niece and nephew, Cecilia and John Paul Cooney, his many Washington, Iowa area extended family; and his beloved dogs past and present; Kegger, Tre’, Sassy, Pepper, Mario, and Rocky.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to further Ella’s education or to your local animal shelter.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and his forever friend Mike Giametta.
