Rita K. Walljasper

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Rita K. Walljasper, 82, of Davenport, will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Sacred Heart Cathedral Davenport. Inurnment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation will be one hour before Mass on Tuesday. 

Ms. Walljasper passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Davenport Lutheran Home. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport, is assisting the family.

Rita was born September 5, 1942, in Davenport, a daughter of Robert and Katherine (Hauber) Walljasper. She earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College of California and was a tax preparer for several businesses over the years.

Rita traveled the world and visited every continent except Antarctica. She lived in Madrid for two years and San Francisco for 38 years before returning to Davenport. She enjoyed ziplining.

Survivors include her sister Dolores “Dee” Moore of Davenport, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, mother Katherine Fellman, and brothers Robert, Stanley, Dennis and Terry.
