Rick Blanche

Rick Blanche, 67, a life long carpenter of Davenport passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, September 4, 2022 at his home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:30 pm, on Friday, September 9, 2022 at the Whispering Pines Shelter at Scott County Park.  A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until the time of the celebration.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Jill Blanche Shimek, 2640 Hudson Street, Baltimore, Maryland, 21224.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rick was passionate about music, and enjoyed live shows.  He would frequent the River Music Experience.  He was an avid Hawkeye, Cubs, and Bears fan.  He enjoyed camping, traveling and loved his chocolate!  He accumulated thousands of miles riding his bike around the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. Rick was often found helping his family and spending time with his friends.  He will be greatly missed.    

He is survived by his children Jill (Luke) Shimek and Joe; and siblings Sal (Tom) Peeters, Jan (Dan) Peeters, Joan Hart, Joleen (Todd) Driessen, Neal (Kara) Blanche, Tricia (Tim) Hart and Paul (Dawn) Blanche; and several nephews, nieces, and great nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Kay Blanche.
