Memorial services to celebrate the life of Rich D. “Fossil” Niles, 68, a resident of Davenport, will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, downtown Davenport. His family will greet friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00. Following his wishes the rite of cremation has been accorded and military graveside services will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Rich passed away Sunday January 7, 2018 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.
Richard Dale Niles was born May 9, 1949 in Muscatine, Iowa a son of Dale and Roberta (Farrar) Niles. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Maes. Rich had worked as a supervisor and or a dealer at numerous casinos throughout the country from Reno, NV to New Orleans, LA; including The President in Davenport and Wild Rose in Clinton.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Marjorie of Davenport and her son Michael (Margaret) King, Rock Island, his granddaughter, Hannah King, Davenport; a sister, Dixie (John) Hidlebaugh, Cedar Rapids; a brother-in-law, Mitch (Linda) Maes, Bettendorf; and numerous loving extended family and great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
