Realto Gusta

Funeral services for, Realto John “Gus” Gusta 89, a resident of Davenport will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at the Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with a time of sharing at 3:30 p.m. Mr. Gusta died, Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at his home in Davenport with family by his side.

Realto John Gusta was born May 22, 1928 in Elkport, Iowa the son of Realto O. and Veronica (Zapf) Gusta. He married Ruth Olivia Spahr on April 22, 1946 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. She preceded him in death February 20, 2007.

Gus had retired in 1982 after over 30 years at the former Brammer Manufacturing.

Memorials may be made to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his children; Betty F. (Karen Brezina) Gusta, Davenport, Cynthia (Bill “B.A.”) Ahrens, of Arkansas, John (Merrie) Gusta Omaha, NE, Mary (James) Crowley ,West Branch, IA, Michael Gusta ,Colorado Springs, Colorado; daughter, Terri (Frank) Tudzin ,Eldridge, Jerry (Tamara) Gusta, Monett ,Missouri; 20 grandchildren 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and two brothers: Robert Gusta, Davenport and Ronald (Shirley) Gusta, Long Grove; a sister Frances Alger, Davenport as well as numerous loving extended family: Gus was preceded in death by his wife and his oldest daughter, Charlotte Keppy; and grandson, William Gusta.
