Randy Ferkel

Randy Allen Ferkel, age 69, of Coal Valley, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00am Monday, September 25, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Davenport. The Mass will be livestreamed by clicking https://www.youtube.com/@StAnthonyCatholicChurch/streamsVisitation will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 pm Sunday, September 24, 2023 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be made to the family.

   Randy was born on August 27, 1954 in Moline to Roscoe and Betty (Clark) Neighbours and was adopted by his step-father, Russell Ferkel at the age of 15. He was united in marriage with Deanna Martin on May 1, 1984, in Las Vegas, NV. Randy started RA Ferkel Construction in 1978 and ran the company until health forced him to retire in 2005. He was generous with his time and was a boy scout leader for over 15 years with Troop 242. Randy enjoyed spending time with his family and his grandkids, as they were the love of his life. His hobbies included hunting, camping, boating, and his weekly trips to the local casinos.

   Survivors include his loving wife of 39 years, Deanna; his sons, Richard (Brooke) Ferkel of Geneseo, Robert (Ann Marie Hines) Ferkel of Davenport, and Ryan (Veronica Moseley) Ferkel of Milan; grandchildren Lillian, Fiona, and Killian; step-grandchildren Brayden, Sydnee, Audrey, and Emma; siblings, Dena, Theresa, Brenda, and Kathy.


   In addition to his parents, Randy was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Marie; siblings, Yvonne and Lennie.
