Paul passed away peacefully Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
Paul was born on February 18, 1958 in Davenport, a son of Stanley H. and Marjorie E. (Hintermeister) Callaway. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Bible Studies from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Kristin Callaway on May 17, 1986 at Westside Assembly of God, Davenport.
Paul felt Called into ministry in his early teenage years and faithfully devoted his life to that Calling ever since. People were drawn to Paul’s energy, magnetic personality, and he was the life of the party everywhere he went. If you knew Paul Callaway, you knew when he arrived by his distinct voice. His gift as a Children’s pastor for over 3 decades took him to many churches locally, in Wisconsin and Missouri. He and Kristin planted Harbor Light Christian Center as his final dream but unfortunately his illness caused him to slow down and stop. He was a man of great faith and will definitely be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Paul was also a naturally gifted athlete. He was known to be a phenomenal golfer (which you should expect from a guy named Callaway) and knew his way well around a basketball court. He was a devoted Green Bay Packer fan and carried on his mother’s (and mother-in-law) love for cryptoquotes and crossword puzzles.
Paul is survived by his wife, Kristin, Davenport, children: Benjamin Callaway (Sara), Muscatine, Morgan Felten (Cole), Samuel Callaway, and Adrianna “Annie” Callaway, all of Davenport; grandchildren: Baiden, Bennett and Ruby; sisters: Ruth Holst, Dawn Beavers (Tim), and Beth Campos all of Davenport, “Brother”, Kris Keuning, Davenport and 3 nieces, 4 nephews along with extended family.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Kristopher, and his parents.Visits: 57
