Mass of Christian Burial for Patricia Diane Miller, 89, of Bettendorf, will be Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., Sacred Heart Cathedral, Davenport. Visitation will precede the mass in the Cathedral gathering space at 9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport, following the funeral. The mass will be live-streamed by clicking the following link : Sacred Heart Cathedral Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Patricia passed away Monday, March 27, in Davenport. Memorials may be made to Ridgecrest Village or Handicapped Development Center, Davenport.
The former Patricia D. Porter was born March 16, 1934, in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of James (Sr.) and Hazel (Boy) Porter. She married Gerald H. Miller on June 22, 1957. They were married 65 years. She was a 1952 graduate of Rock Island High School. After completing two years at Augustana College, Rock Island, she worked as secretary to Edward F. Miller (her husband’s father) in the Electric Transmission and Distribution Dept. of Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric Co. She graduated from Marycrest College, Davenport, IA and became a CPA. After several years of working for a local accounting firm, she started her own business, FSA, Inc. She provided financial services for Bracke-Hayes-Miller, Architects, Moline.
She and her husband were founding members of St. John Vianney Parish, Bettendorf. She enjoyed her accounting work, photography, travel, history, gardening, mystery novels, and watching golf tournaments and football games. She especially enjoyed time spent with her family. She and Jerry successfully raised three wonderful children!
Patricia is survived by her husband, Gerald H. Miller; children Mark D. (Judy) Miller, Davenport, Lisa D. (Michael) Romanowski, Minneapolis, and Matthew J. (Krista) Miller, Frisco, CO; grandchildren Elliot Miller and Colin Miller, Davenport, Ian Miller, St. Louis, MO, Taylor (Travis) Toms, Golden, CO, Harrison Romanowski, Huntington Beach, CA, and Rylan and Raina Miller, Frisco, CO; and a great-grandson, Heron Gray Toms. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother and sister-in-law, James (Jr.) and Bernice Porter.
The family would like to thank the caring and supportive staff at Ridgecrest Village and Genesis Hospice for the wonderful care of their mother.
