Patricia McMahill

Patricia “Pat” McMahill, 87, of Bettendorf, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025, at UnityPoint-Trinity, Bettendorf, after a brief illness. At the request of the deceased, a private family service was held at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, with burial in Davenport Memorial Park.

Patricia Sue Hendren was born April 14, 1937, in Iowa City, a daughter of Leon “Mike” and Mary Helen (Pullan) Hendren. She was united in marriage to Gary McMahill on June 30, 1962, in Rock Island, who preceded her in death on September 22, 2017.

Prior to her retirement, Pat worked at the Rock Island Arsenal for twenty years.

She liked to garden, play cards, make ceramics, and bowl with her husband Gary, and her family. Pat was a talented seamstress and used to make all of children’s clothing including her daughter Linda's high school homecoming outfit, and daughter Mary’s prom dress.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters Linda (Scott) Livengood of Homosassa, FL, Cheryl (Bob Buechel) McMahill of Moline, Stacy McMahill of Jacksonville, FL, Mary (Mike) Wernsman of Milan, IL; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.

In addition to her husband Gary, Pat was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Lou Simon, and brother James Hendren.
