Patricia S. Lujack

Patricia (Pat) Lujack, 95, of Naples, Florida formerly of Bettendorf and Indian Wells, California peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 2nd 2022 in Naples.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, August 8th at 10am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church 4097 18th Street, Bettendorf, IA. Visitation will be held Sunday, August 7th from 3:00-5:00pm at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home 614 North Main Street, Davenport, IA.

Patricia was born February 22, 1927 in Omaha, NE to Frank and Josephine Wilson Schierbrock. She graduated from the Villa de Chantal in Rock Island, IL and attended Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY.

In 1946, Pat met the love of her life, Johnny Lujack, a student and football player at the University of Notre Dame. Their first date, planned by Johnny, included a double header baseball game followed by a basketball game. They fell in love and were married June 26th, 1948 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Davenport. Pat and Johnny settled in Park Ridge, IL while Johnny played for the Chicago Bears. In 1952, Pat and John made their home in the Quad Cities where they lived and raised their 3 children; Mary, Jeff and Carol. In 1986, Pat and John started spending their winters in Indian Wells, Ca where they made countless memories with family and friends.

Pat loved to travel, entertain and  serve others. She was a member of several clubs throughout her life. She was a member of The Catholic Service Board, Mercy Hospital Auxillary, Tri-City Garden Club, The Outing Club, Crow Valley Country Club and Desert Horizons.

Most of all, Pat enjoyed being a wife, a mother and a “Mimi” to her 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her family was the center of her life. Pat was the epitome of a lady. She was always gracious, kind and gentle. She had a smile that sparkled. Pat had a sweet tooth and a tender heart. She would eat nothing but cookies if she had her way, and she would burst into tears at the drop of a hat. The Notre Dame fight song, the sight of Santa in the Macy’s Christmas Parade, or any act of kindness, even a Hallmark commercial would get the waterworks going. She had an adventurous spirit which made “life with Mimi” so much fun. At age 70, Mimi got up on waterskis at the family cabin in Wisconsin and on that same vacation, she went hang gliding.

The family wishes to thank her caregivers throughout the years; Joyce Carmen, Deanna Gold and her dear Angie Trujillo.

Patricia is survived by her husband of 74 years, John Lujack, her daughter, Mary Lujack of Bettendorf, her son, Jeff (Hilary) Lujack of Cupertino, Ca, her 5 grandchildren; Amy (Dan) Schiller, Sarah (Tait) Johnson, Grant (Vania) Pohlmann, Kevin and Dana Lujack and 8 great-grandchildren; Charley, Josie and Julia Flanagan, Gracie and Drew Johnson, Louie, Oliver and Elliott Pohlmann and all the Wilson nieces and nephews.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; Frank and Josephine Wilson Schierbrock, her daughter; Carol Lujack and her life long crush, Frank Sinatra.
