Pat died peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf surrounded by family.

Patricia Ann Blumer was born on November 20, 1936, one of nine children born to Oswald and Cecilia (Micklewright) Blumer. She was a life-long Davenport resident, attending Holy Family School and Immaculate Conception Academy. Pat's early career was with Great Western Supply Company, the business her father founded. She went on to work as a credit union manager and an award-winning salesperson for Combined Insurance.

In 1958, she married Jerry Dean MacBeth and together they were blessed with five children they raised in Bettendorf. Pat was active in her children's, church, and community activities. She did it all and being a mom was the joy of her life. Her attitude and joyful spirit was evident every time she said “I’m happy, healthy, and terrific!”

In 2008 she married Joe Goetsch when she and Joe were 70. They showed us all that love is love no matter the age. They shared seventeen wonderful years and Joe was a blessing to her and her five children.

Pat helped bring Pickleball to the Quad Cities and many people know her as “Pickleball Patty”. She played avidly until she was 85 and even won a bronze medal in the Senior Olympics. She loved playing cards, spending time with her family and friends, and working to share her love of God. She was a lifetime member of Holy Family parish and was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith. She would quip "Why was I born? To love and serve the Lord." She reminded us that this was her first life lesson. Her legacy to us is "Peace is My farewell, My peace is My gift to you.” She is now resting in God’s eternal peace.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Joe Goetsch; children and their spouses: Kathy MacBeth, Des Moines, Ted and Margaret (Bitter) MacBeth, Des Moines, Molly (MacBeth) and Steve Elliott, Moline, and Margee (MacBeth) and Ron Winkler, East Dundee, Illinois; grandchildren: Jim Hartkorn, Nick Hartkorn, Ashley Howe, Tabatha Madaris, JJ MacBeth, Autumn MacBeth, Clay MacBeth, Luke Ladenburger, Adam Ladenburger, Justin Winkler, Samantha Winkler, Stella, Joe, Jake, and Nick MacBeth; great-grandchildren: Kennedy and Rylee Hartkorn, Hendrix Hartkorn, Hayden and Emma Howe, Bailey and Jarrett Madaris, and Jayden and Jensyn MacBeth, Kyson and Laken Ladenburger and Salem and Tatum Ladenburger; step-children – Sue (Goetsch) and Tom McGonegal, Sharon (Goetsch) and Wes Plett, and Joe and Kristi Goetsch; step-grandson, Josiah Goetsch as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Joe MacBeth; grandchildren: Cole MacBeth and Zane Ladenburger; her parents: Oswald and Ceclia Blumer; brothers: Alan, Dale, Tom, Dean, and Wayne Blumer; sisters: Janet (Blumer) Peavey, June (Blumer) Carstens, and Katie (Blumer) Lee. May they rest in peace.
