Parker D. Quail

Missoula, MT, and formerly of Davenport, IA

Parker Quail, 38, of Missoula, MT, and formerly of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital after a battle with cancer. A celebration of his life will be held from 1-5 pm on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Figge Art Museum, Davenport, with a time of sharing starting at 3 pm. Private interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the University of Iowa Foundation, Dan's House of Hope, or the Stead Family Children's Hospital at the University of Iowa.

 

Parker Daniel Quail was born October 27, 1985, in Davenport, the son of John “Pat” and Susan (Reynolds) Quail. He graduated from Bettendorf High School, class of 2004 and the University of Iowa, class of 2010.

 

Parker was a voracious reader and excelled at writing. He was a freelance writer of fiction and fantasy as well as an editor.

 

He enjoyed mixed martial arts and had been a kickboxing instructor. 

 

He was a kind and caring friend and everyone’s best friend.

 

Those left to honor his memory include his mother Susan Quail of Davenport; mother Cathy (Bob) Bosco of Davenport; brothers Jay Quail of Elm Grove, WI, Scott Bosco of Davenport; sister Hannah Bosco of North Liberty, IA; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, and good friend Steven Lampe.
