Otis Wagschal

Otis Wagschal, age 91, of Davenport, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society, Davenport. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, January 9, 2023 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 10:00 am until the time of service/ Inurnment will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery.

Otis was born on August 12, 1931 in Iowa City to Fred and Leona Wagschal. He graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1949 and attended Augustana College majoring in Accounting. Otis was united in marriage to Jo Ann Holloway on August 12, 1951 at South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. She preceded him in death on July 11, 2021.

Otis was a general contractor starting his business in 1962 where he built homes until 2000 where the business switched to remodeling. He eventually retired in 2008. Otis enjoyed boating on the Mississippi River with his wife, as well as to Lake Pittman. He was also a car enthusiast having a couple different Corvettes. Otis was also a member of the Masonic lodge and Kaaba Shrine.

Survivors include his children, Pamela Wagschal of Lexington, KY, and Steven (Laura) Wagschal of Davenport; grandchildren, Melissa (Chad) of Davenport, Bryan (Tana) of Des Moines, and Sara (Ric) of Ankeny; great-grandchildren, Ilo, Riley, and Henley.
