Nathan Collins, Jr.

Funeral Services for Nathan Collins, Jr., 70, a resident of Davenport, will be Friday, March 29, 2019 at 11am at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, 614 Main Street, Davenport.  Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport.  The family will greet friends Friday from 10am until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Nathan passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Genesis Medical Center, East Rusholme Street.

Nathan was born September 3, 1948 in Star City, Arkansas, a son of Nathan and Mary (Ferrell) Collins, Sr.  He married Janet Lacefield September 18, 1991 in Davenport.  Nathan retired from Oscar Mayer in 2014.  He enjoyed fishing and kept busy doing odd jobs since his retirement.  He was also a faithful servant to God’s Church.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Those left to honor Nathan’s memory include his wife, Janet, Davenport; children, Nathan Rush, Shavon (fiancé, Seth Perry) Collins, Porshia Collins, Natalie Rush and Jessica (Joseph) Sutton, all of Davenport; stepchildren, Anthony James, Indiana, Imeka James, East Moline, Eshahbah “Esh” (Brenda) James, Rock Island, Niechet Barnett, Davenport, Zaccheaus “Zach” Barnett, Ohio, Jaron Collins, Mia Collins, Josiah Collins and Terino (Shannon) Rush, Zredirick Abrams and Doris Lane, all of Davenport; and 21 grand and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Lashawnda Rush and grandson, Joseph Sutton, Jr.
