It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Naomi Sue Gall, on March 3, 2023. She was 73 years old.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10am, Thursday, March 9, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass beginning at 9am at church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Handicapped Development Center or Camp Courageous of Iowa in Sue's memory.
Sue was born on October 4, 1949 in Davenport, to Roy Baugh and Gertrude (Langfeldt) Baugh. She grew up in a simpler time, attending a two-room schoolhouse in Stockton, Iowa where she cherished many memories of growing up with her sisters. Sue spent her life caring for others, but none more so than her two children, whom she loved more than anything in the world. Sue's love for her children was especially evident in the care she provided to Tim. She devoted herself to his well-being, ensuring that he had the support and resources he needed to thrive.
Sue was a hard-working and independent woman. She worked at Alcoa in the Plate Mill for nearly 30 years, milling aluminum for airplanes and was a proud union supporter.
A faithful Catholic, Sue found great comfort and solace in her faith. She was an active member of St. Anthony's and participated in many church activities. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter, and she spent countless hours creating beautiful works of art that will be cherished by her family for generations to come. She also had a green thumb and loved to spend time in her garden, tending to her plants and enjoying the beauty of nature. At the end of a good day, she enjoyed falling asleep while watching endless episodes of the Golden Girls.
Sue will be deeply missed by her children Tim Gall, and Wendy (Trent) Turner; grandchildren Blake, Hannah, Noah, and all who knew her. She is also survived by her sisters Connie Vander Brug and Nancy (Martin) Mower.
Rest in peace, Sue. Your legacy will live on through the beautiful memories you created and the love you shared with those around you.
