Nancy E. Fleming

Nancy E. Fleming, 86, a resident of Bettendorf, died Monday, November 28, 2022 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Autism Society of Iowa. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Nancy was born December 27, 1935 in Nekoosa, Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Magdalen (Pfeifer) Larsen. She married William Fleming, November 30, 1957. He preceded her in death, August 1987.

Nancy worked as a dental assistant prior to her marriage and later worked at HyVee for 17 years. She was a member of St. John Vianney; enjoyed card club, gardening, and bingo. Nancy cherished her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Mary (David) VandeVoort of Moline, Ann Fleming of Des Moines, William (Angela) Fleming of Bettendorf, Kathleen Alcindor of Bettendorf, and Michael Fleming of Bettendorf; grandchildren, Mark, Jared, Bradley, Marina, Emma, Hannah, Dylan, Veronica, Makayla, Lauren, Steven, Domnick, Brock and Addison; 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Blumer and Joseph (Iris) Larsen of Davenport; sisters-in-law, Joan Larsen, Sandra Edmonds, Joyce Keith, and Cheryl Fleming; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Chad McCormick; daughter-in-law, Julia; sister, Barbara Laake; brothers, Jack and Jim Larsen; and brothers-in-law, Wayne Blumer and Dick Keith.
