Michael A. Solis

Michael Anthony Solis, 70, of Davenport, passed away peacefully at home Monday, February 3, 2025. 

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 8th at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home located at 614 Main Street, Davenport, Iowa. Visitation starts at 9:00 am, the ceremony begins at 10:00 am.

Michael was born January 16th, 1955, in Moline, Illinois. The son of John Solis and Mary (Ramirez) Solis, being the youngest of twelve siblings. Michael married the love of his life, Karen Patterson, on June 15th, 2012. 

Michael’ s most treasured memories included spending time with his family, going to car shows with his brothers, visiting family at his sister Vera’s house, and always finding new places to explore with his wife. In his later years he found a new joy in watching his grandchildren Nolan, Watson, Ryker and Maisie grow. Michael always had a toy in his hands even after the kids were done playing and a smile on his face. Despite his health challenges, his smile lit up every room he walked into and made everyone in it feel welcome. Michael was always a hard worker, whether that meant wrenching on his truck, working in the yard, or driving the fork truck at his job. Working hard was always important to him and he always took pride in everything he did. Michael always had an ear to listen when you had something on your heart to share. 

Michael is preceded in death by his father; John Solis; mother: Mary Solis; brother Manuel Solis; sisters Maria Johnson and MaryJane Solis; brother in-law Jim McGary; and sisters in-law Judy Solis and Linda Solis. 

People left to honor his memory are his wife Karen Solis; his brothers Donald John and Rose Solis (spouse), Victor Solis, Frank Solis, and Joseph Solis; sisters Elvena Solis, Linda Solis, Natalie Solis, Teresa Solis, Teresa McGary; sons Brandon Patterson, Joshua Solis; daughters Brittany Koutsky & Austin Koutsky (spouse), Emily Covington, Shalome Solis, Ashley Solis, Jacque Solis; and grandchildren Nolan, Watson, Ryker, and Maisie.
