Michael Porter

Michael C. Porter, 50, of Davenport, formerly of Iowa City, died unexpectedly Monday, May 18, 2020.  Due to the current health crisis, services will be private but will be livestreamed at 2p.m. Friday, May 22, 2020 by visiting Michael’s obituary at www.hmdfuneralhome.com and clicking the link at the bottom.  Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorials may be made to the family.

Michael Cory Porter was born on October 27, 1969 in Chicago, a son of Carolyn (Porter) Mitchell and Leo guider.

Michael loved his family, music, and especially his mother.  He enjoyed reading, listening to music, making people laugh and also cooking at St.Ambrose University as a chef. He was close friends with Litree Walls, with whom he was also married to.

Survivors include his children: Tiara Walls, Coralville, Unyque Porter, Chicago, and Amanda (LaShaunda Falkner) Porter-Falkner, South Haven, Mississippi; grandchildren: Angelo Walls and Makayla Sims; mother, Carolyn Mitchell, Chicago; siblings: Patricia Porter, Priscilla Walker, Belinda Porter, Leo Guider, Christopher Guider, and Rochelle Washington; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Leo Guider, a brother Carl Guider, and a sister Yvonne Porter.
