Michael Ronald Luke Domeyer, 77, of Davenport, Iowa formerly a longtime resident of Dubuque, Iowa passed away, Saturday, October 5, 2024, at home.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, October 10, 2024, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 417 N. Main Street, Davenport, Iowa from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Additional visitation will take place Friday from 9:00 a.m to 10:00 a.m.at the church. A Funeral Mass for Michael will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. The Mass will be livestreamed. Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Petersburg, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for Masses or for planting a tree in Michael's honor. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Michael was born on June 29, 1947, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Roland "Ronnie" and Terese "Timmie" (Kerper) Domeyer. He graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School in 1965 and earned a bachelor's degree in business from Loras College in 1969. Michael began his career at Wickes Lumber Company, working his way up to manager. In 1994, he took on a managerial role at ABC Supply Company, retiring as a Managing Partner in February 2016.
On September 19, 1970, Michael married Ann Elizabeth Ludwig at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Farley, Iowa. A devoted fan of the White Sox and Packers, Michael found joy in fishing, playing cards, games, and often relaxing with a good cigar and a glass of scotch. Above all, he loved the time he spent with Ann, particularly on their beach vacations. He took great pleasure spending time with his daughters and grandsons, cherishing every moment with them. He enjoyed the company of family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann, of Davenport; his children, Lisa (Marc) Wilkie of Madison, New Jersey, and Rachel (Adam) Moore of Chicago, Illinois; his cherished grandsons, Jack Wilkie and Max Moore; and his siblings, Barb (Tim) Foust of Bellevue, Iowa, and Mark (Stacee) Domeyer of Westlake Village, California. He is also remembered by his in-laws: Lois (Jim) Loughren of Winthrop, Iowa, Dennis (Terri) Ludwig of Mount Vernon, Iowa, Paul (Nancy) Ludwig of Farley, Iowa, Roger (Susan) Ludwig of Iowa City, Iowa, Jean (Michael) Russell of Manchester, Iowa, Jan (Dennis) Kramer of Dyersville, Iowa, Joyce (Tim) Singsank of Dyersville, Iowa, Donna Ludwig, Van Alstyne, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronnie and Timmie Domeyer, and parents-in-law, Edmond “Eddie” and Rosalyn Ludwig. May they rest in peace.
