Michael David Miller

Michael David Miller, 63, of Davenport, Iowa, son of Leo and Elizabeth (Betty) Miller, passed away August 25, 2024, at home per his wishes. He had been under the care of Heartland Hospice.

A memorial mass will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 916 E Rusholme St., Davenport. Private inurnment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital, Iowa City, Iowa; Empowering Abilities, Davenport Iowa; Mayo Clinic Foundation, Rochester, MN or a favorite charity. 

Michael attended Fairmount School and University of Iowa Children’s Hospital School until beginning first grade at St Paul the Apostle Catholic School. He graduated from Assumption High School and St Ambrose University. The Rock Island Arsenal employed him for 22 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching sporting events and camping with his friends.

He is survived by his brother, Leo Joseph (Mary) Miller and their children, Elizabeth (George) Condes, Nick (Alina) Miller, and Ali (Bill) McKenna. Sisters Ann (Tom) DeSalvo and their children, Matthew (Lisa) DeSalvo, Thomas DeSalvo, Mary Kate (KB) Holbrook, and Kelly (Jeremy) Belshe; Therese (Jim) Rix and their children, Hunter, Connor, Ellie, Maddie and Brennan; Jane (Mike) Orosco and their son Miguel; good friend Bernie (Linda) Powers and their sons, Luke and Greg. Mike had 16 great nieces and nephews. 

Mike loved life, family and friends. There are many stories to be shared. Please join the family to share your memories from 6-10 pm on Friday, November 15, at Sippis, 406 W. 2nd St, Davenport. Thank you to all of his friends that treated him like family and to those that took time to visit in his later years.
