Michael Carney

Michael Edward Carney, 75, of Davenport passed away, Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at Genesis Medical Center. 

 Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 19, 2024 at St. Albans Episcopal Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Thursday, July 18, 2024 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family.

 Michael was born on February 27, 1949 to Theodore Carney and Alberta Current. He was united in marriage to LuAnn Lopez in 1991.

 Michael enjoyed NASCAR, drag racing and gambling. He found joy in watching Chicago PD, Chicago Fire, Chicago Meds, and Antique Roadshow. He had a sense of humor and could make you laugh. Above all he loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and cherished the time he spent with them. 

 Those left to honor his memory include his wife LuAnn; daughter Christy Starling; grandchildren Steve (Peggy) Hintermeister, Tony Hintermeister, Mitchell Hintermeister and Carolyn Mader; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; twin sister Patti (Richard) White; siblings Nancy (Elmer) Justus, William Ruge and Marcia Lorenz; and many nieces and nephews. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Wayne Ruge, Darlene Gifford and Sandra Lopez and step children LuAnn Cooper and Alan Cooper.
